Mizen Bridge, Mizen Head, Co. Cork, Ireland
The original bridge was completed in 1909 for the Commissioners of Irish Lights (CIL) and was used to provide access for lighthouse keepers and for CIL staff. It comprised both precast and in-situ reinforced concrete elements and was the first reinforced concrete bridge to be built in Ireland. Point of Interest: The little dot on the horizon is the Fastnet Lighthouse.
